Junior Careers in Health

Hands on workshop where you can take blood, record and print an ECG, try keyhole surgery, see inside your body with an ultrasound machine and take a picture of the inside of your eye! Introduce your students to dozens of careers available in the NHS.

Challenge the champions

See how your students compare to some of the world’s greatest athletes with 10 amazing sports science tests! Race a virtual Usain Bolt, test your reactions on Blaze Pods, test strength, record ball throwing speed and much more!

How a day works & what we need.

The workshop can be tailored for any year group from years 4,5 & 6 in primary. We can visit for the day and repeat the workshops 3 to 5 times over the day with each workshop running for 50-90 minutes. For the medical workshop we need a good sized classroom with access to tables and a few plug sockets. For the sport, we need a hall or gym with plug sockets. (we can break down at lunch!). The workshop has a 15-20 minute intro from the MM team before the students get the rest of the session to experience using the kit! It is all hands on!

Every student receives a 4 page workbook where they can record results and check off activities. Each activity has 2-4 different careers linked to them so your pupils can discover there’s more to a hospital than doctors and nurses. On the sport worksheet, they can see how their result compare to famous athletes!
